If you like salmon try this:
Buy a piece of salmon from the store
Marinate it in the fridge as you would chicken (use lemon pepper, balsamic vinegar, etc)
When you're ready for dinner put your microwave on 50% power, cover the salmon, and microwave for just between 2-4 minutes. And you're done! It takes less time and is healthier than a microwavable dinner.

If you're looking for a side, microwave some veggies. Take any fresh veggies, put them in a bowl with a little water, salt and pepper. Add garlic and butter on top if you'd like, cover, and microwave until cooked.

First healthy cooking tip-Chicken Parm

Buy bonless skinless chicken breast
DO NOT BREAD THE CHICKEN!!
Sear the chicken in olive oil and garlic (both sides)
Place it in an oven safe dish
Sprinkle with breadcrumbs
Top with a little olive oil
Add sauce
Add 2% mozzerela cheese
Bake on 350 for 20 minutes

It will taste just as good as the heavily breaded and fried chicken parm your used to but it's so much better for you!!!

Who am I and what is this about?

My name is Meredith Bratus and I am a senior at University of Delaware. This blog is being created for an information technology class. Cooking is something I am passionate about and over the past year have become more innovative in my own preparation techniques to reduce the amout of calories in great meals. I will be providing different ideas of how to cut calories and fat to make a heathier meal.
